Fareston (Toremifene Citrate)

(Toremifene Citrate)

Fareston is a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM) and is one of the newer SERM’s on the market. Fareston first gained FDA approval in 1997 through GTx INC. and is manufactured in numerous countries across the globe. The compound is very similar to Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate) and Clomid (Clomiphene Citrate) but is far more closely related to Nolvadex. Like most SERM’s Fareston carries both estrogen agonist and antagonist properties and is primarily used in the fight against breast cancer. Specifically, Fareston is used to treat estrogen receptor positive breast cancer in post-menopausal women or breast cancer with unknown estrogenic activity.

While a formidable opponent to breast cancer, Fareston is also suitable for anabolic steroid users. The SERM is an excellent choice in the fight against estrogenic side effects due to steroid supplementation. In fact, it may be the best SERM for this purpose. However, while SERM’s like Nolvadex and Clomid are also commonly used for Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) treatment plans, we will find Fareston is a poor choice for this period of use.

Fareston Functions & Traits:

Toremifene Citrate (Fareston) is an anti-estrogenic medication, a SERM officially classified as a non-steroidal triphenylethylene derivative. As an anti-estrogen, Fareston functions by binding or attaching to the estrogen receptors in various tissues throughout the body creating a competition between it and the estrogen hormone. By attaching to the varying receptors this prevents the estrogen hormone from binding and performing its intended action. Primarily this will be beneficial in that it prevents the estrogen hormone from binding to the estrogen receptors in the mammary tissue.

Unlike Aromatase Inhibitors (AI’s), a much stronger class of anti-estrogens, Fareston does not have the ability to lower serum estrogen levels. AI’s function by inhibiting aromatization, which refers to the conversion of testosterone to estrogen; this in turn lowers the body’s serum estrogen levels; there is now less estrogen available to do what estrogen does. However, with Fareston use, while no reduction occurs the circulating estrogen doesn’t have the ability to perform and feed breast cancer or the condition known as gynecomastia common to many steroid users.

Of the varying traits of Fareston, one of the more interesting is its relationship to testosterone. Most SERM’s have the ability to stimulate natural testosterone production, specifically enhance the release of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH). For this reason, SERM’s like Nolvadex and Clomid are often used for PCT purposes due to the suppressed state of natural testosterone production following anabolic steroid use. And it’s also why SERM’s like Clomid are used as a fertility aid as the increase in gonadotropins can promote conception. However, unlike these SERM’s Fareston has been shown to significantly increase Sex-Hormone-Binding-Globulin (SHBG), which in turn will result in a lower level of free testosterone. This makes Fareston a poor choice for PCT, which is a period primarily concerned with increasing testosterone levels.

A final note on the functions and traits of Fareston surrounds cholesterol. Although anti-estrogenic in nature it is only anti-estrogenic in part. Fareston will actually act as estrogen in the liver, which will support healthier lipid profiles. As it acts as estrogen in the liver, this will support reductions in LDL cholesterol and the synthesis of HDL cholesterol. In fact, while other SERM’s carry this ability Fareston has been shown to carry it to the strongest level making it an excellent choice for the anabolic steroid user on cycle in the fight against gynecomastia.

Effects of Fareston:

The effects of Fareston are fairly easy to understand once we understand its functions and traits, but we can put things into more real life terms. For the breast cancer patient the idea is very simple. Many forms of breast cancer actively feed off of the estrogen hormone. By blocking the hormone, while perhaps overly simplistic, this starves the cancer. It is often used in the first line of treatment or following AI treatment in an effort to prevent a reoccurrence.

For the anabolic steroid user, when supplementing with aromatizing steroids the increase in estrogen can lead to gynecomastia and excess water retention. Those who suffer from high levels of water retention commonly find their blood pressure increases. SERM’s like Fareston are not always enough to combat water retention, but they will do a much better job than many tend to believe. A common problem with water retention is often the dose of aromatizing steroids and diet that accompanies their use. Bloating and water retention is a common off-season problem due to high doses of testosterone and calorie dense diets. When we overeat, with or without steroids this will cause water retention. Excess carbohydrates are the leading factor and when aromatizing steroids are present this can exasperate the problem. It is true, you need excess calories to grow, but rarely do you need near the amount many tend to assume they need. Normally, a slight increase above maintenance is enough to grow. Most would be surprised how well they could control water retention if they used Fareston and simply did a better job controlling their diets.

Then we have gynecomastia, which can be caused by aromatizing steroids and those with a strong progestin nature. While Fareston will not lower estrogenic activity it will prevent the activation in the mammary tissue, the estrogen hormone becomes useless in this area of the body. For men who are extremely sensitive to gynecomastia, some may find SERM’s like Fareston aren’t enough. High doses of aromatizing steroids can make AI’s absolutely necessary. However, if you can get the job done with a SERM like Fareston it should always be your first choice. The use of AI’s does appear to have a very slight impact on cholesterol, but when combined with an aromatizing steroid this negative effect is greatly enhanced. Anabolic steroids are already known to negatively affect cholesterol. Many suppress HDL cholesterol levels while some also increase LDL cholesterol levels. By the effects of Fareston, if it is used as your anti-estrogen you will actually protect and possibly even improve your cholesterol levels despite anabolic steroid use. Some will adamantly argue that an AI is still a must, but this is only because most do not fully understand proper supplementation practices. You may very well end up needing an AI, that we cannot predict, there are too many varying factors, but giving the effects of Fareston a chance is the best place to start.

Side Effects of Fareston:

Fareston is an extremely well tolerated SERM. There are possible side effects of Fareston but they do not appear to be all that common, and the most common side effects of Fareston are not what we can label serious. The most common side effects of Fareston are hot flashes and excess sweating. Approximately 35% of all Fareston patients will experience hot flashes and 20% excess sweating. Other possible side effects of Fareston although rare include:

  • Nausea
  • Elevated Liver Enzymes
  • Vaginal Discharge
  • Edema (rare)
  • Vomiting (very rare)
  • Vaginal Bleeding (extremely rare)

Some Fareston users may also experience dizziness; in fact, this is actually very common in the early stages of use. Then we’re left with the final side effects of Fareston and they are surrounded by a hot bed of debate. These are the more serious possible side effects of Fareston but they also come with some important notes:

  • Low White Blood Cell Count
  • Dermatitis
  • Vertigo
  • Strength Loss
  • Hair Loss
  • Depression
  • Jaundice
  • Constipation
  • Difficulty Breathing
  • Visual Disturbances
  • Partial Motor Paralysis

Some of these side effects of Fareston sound very bothersome to say the least, but they are also while possible virtually unheard of. More importantly, patients who have displayed such symptoms during use, it has not been proven that Fareston caused such reactions as many were also taking other medications and other factors existed when such issues occurred. Because it is such a new SERM it may take several more years of research to fully pin point the total action. However, because of its strong cholesterol friendly nature and overall effectiveness as an anti-estrogen and generally well-tolerated nature it remains very promising going into the future.

Fareston Administration:

In the fight against breast cancer, standard Fareston doses will normally be 60mg per day. The total duration of use is unpredictable and will be based on patient need. It’s not uncommon for treatment to last a year or two and then AI’s to be added if needed. Once the cancer is in remission, compounds like Fareston are commonly used to support the improved state.

For the anabolic steroid user combating gynecomastia, standard Fareston doses will fall in the 30-60mg per day range and will work very well for most men. If this is not enough protection, while you could try increasing the dose your best bet would be to move to AI use. You will find Fareston works very well in combating gynecomastia due to the use of any testosterone, Dianabol and Anadrol. You will also find it works well with Equipoise and Deca Durabolin. However, as Deca Durabolin is also a progestin, men who are very sensitive to that hormone may need an AI. The same can be said of the Trenbolone hormone. Trenbolone does not aromatize, but it is a progestin. Further, the use of an aromatizing steroid with a compound like Trenbolone can increase the risk of gynecomastia in some men. While many will not need gynecomastia protection due to progestins and will get by with SERM’s to combat aromatase, some sensitive men will need an AI. Regardless, if Fareston works for you it will cover the entire breadth of the cycle from start to finish.

Availability of Fareston:

Fareston is commonly found on pharmaceutical markets around the world but is a very rare SERM on the black market. SERM’s like Clomid and Nolvadex are traded heavily on the black market, in fact, there’s more of these SERM’s on the black market than prescription market, but Fareston is a different story. You will rarely find a steroid supplier or online pharmacy that carries this SERM. You may find a few research chemical labs (RCL’s) that carry liquid Toremifene Citrate, and such products are increasing in popularity but it’s still not as common as other SERM’s. Regardless of your mode of purchase, counterfeit Fareston is virtually unheard of.

Buy Fareston Online - Warning:

You can buy Fareston online from the right suppliers, but it’s not common. Most will find they will need a prescription for tablets or if they dig hard enough they’ll find an RCL that carries it. Fareston is not a controlled substance, but in the U.S. it will require a prescription. In many countries you won’t need a prescription and it can be purchased over the counter, but most countries will still frown on online purchases. As for RCL purchases, this represents a loophole in U.S. law. RCL’s can sell Toremifene Citrate and other related items in oral liquid form as long as it’s for research purposes only. In turn, you can legally purchase such items without a prescription so as long as it’s for research purposes only. This is a loophole many take advantage of when buying SERM’s, AI’s, sexual aids and various peptide hormones. However, while technically legal, if law enforcement wanted to make an issue of your purchase it would be on you to prove the research claim and that could be very difficult to do.

Do to the often constantly changing laws revolving around SERM’s and ancillaries in general and their variance from one country to the next, this can make purchasing such items very stressful. It is imperative you understand the law as it pertains to where you live before any such related purchase is made. Fareston Reviews:

For the anabolic steroid user, for on cycle gynecomastia protection Fareston could be one of the smartest choices you ever make. It is true, some will need an AI due to sensitivity, but keep in mind the total dosing of aromatizing steroids will vary the sensitivity. Many can use relatively high doses of aromatizing steroids without the need for an AI and Fareston will protect them well, but some will absolutely need the AI. However, when we consider the cholesterol factor and the benefit Fareston can have on lipids this is invaluable. Many steroid users often worry about visually related side effects like acne, hair loss or gynecomastia, and it is possible for such effects to occur. Of course, the likelihood of such effects is dependent on the steroids being used, doses, sensitivity and other factors. However, while many worry about such effects cholesterol issues are a far more concerning issue and should take precedence over other issues. If you can protect your cholesterol and maintain a healthy blood pressure during anabolic steroid use, you will greatly protect your health. Such protection is very possible and compounds like Fareston can help. You receive the estrogen protection you desire and the cholesterol protection you need.
