Officer Faces Five Years in Prison for Selling Ten Dianabol Tablets
[June 12th, 2008] by Millard BakerPasco County Deputy Rodney Philon pleaded guilty to federal charges of possession of an anabolic steroid with intent to distribute. Federal investigators are prosecuting Philon over 10 Dianabol tablets sold to a confidential informant. Prosecutors did NOT make a deal with Philon before he pleaded guilty. Philon faces a maximum of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Compare and contrast this with the case of steroid dealer David Jacobs who admitted to selling 317,000 units of steroids (even though court documents only listed 40,000 vials of anabolic steroids since that is the maximum on the federal scale) and several thousand units of human growth hormone. Jacobs pleaded guilty after accepting a deal from prosecutors which promised him zero jail time and only three years probation and a $25,000 fine.
