LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Well, it’s been a month already and here we are again. In my excitement to get your last issue out, I didn’t get a great chance to introduce you to the people who donated articles to that issue (and this one).
You’ve probably noticed that even though this is a steroid.com newsletter, a good deal of the information in it is from non-steroid-type authors. Well, that’s because I have always looked at steroids as the final part of a puzzle, not the first…so although this issue of your newsletter has all the usual steroid stuff, I’ve continued to include training and nutrition advice from some top notch authors.
Let me give you a quick run down of these two repeat offenders who have contributed to both issues so far…
Cassandra is a buddy of mine who was introduced to me by a mutual friend. She’s currently a doctoral candidate over at UCONN, and the student representative for the International Society of Sports Nutritionists. Oh…and did I mention that she just wrote her second book for Womens Health magazine? Of course, her advice isn’t just for women, and it’s stuff that I think you probably haven’t seen before, and you should probably start following right now…
Do you know what “foam rolling” is or how it can help you? No? Then read her article. Trust me.
Jimmy happens to be someone I met when I was speaking at a round table conference at the end of a seminar. He’s earned a CSCS, and owns his own personal training business, as well as having been published by Mens Fitness, Maximum Fitness, and Natural Bodybuilding and Fitness. Most recently, he conducted a series of audio interviews with some of the top people in the training, supplement, and nutritional industry. For my own part, I participated in this project talking about supplementation and designing a supplement program, and you can check the whole thing out here: http://injected.jsmith24.hop.clickbank.net
This issue, we’ve got Jimmy’s own thoughts on Supplementation for you to check out…
Alright…I’ve taken up enough of your time with my intro letter…I’ll let you read the rest of your newsletter!

| The New York Times Curse
When I was in high-school journalism class, I learned that a journalist reports facts – and only facts…that could be checked and verified. Even if it goes against common sense…even if the journalist was (hypothetically) standing next to me while I robbed a bank, as I provided 3 forms of identification…when he writes the story about it, he has to call me “Anthony Roberts, alleged bank robber”. | Unspoken Rules
It’s difficult to enforce rules on people who don’t want them in the first place. Trying to keep steroids out of sports is proving to be no exception. For the record, I grew up in Union City, NJ…only a few towns over from the birthplace of Frank Sinatra – and baseball. So growing up, as you might expect, I both listened to a lot of Frank Sinatra and played a lot of baseball. Hoboken had all of the good athletic fields though, so we always had to make the walk down there, through Weehawken, and past the Lincoln Tunnel. (MORE)

The Last Action Hero
What’s the last action movie you saw? If you’re anything like the projected average demographic of steroid.com (and by this, I’m talking about my own estimation), you’re likely a male, under the age of 40 (the largest group of people researching anabolic steroids at any time). And if you fit neatly into that group, then you fit neatly into the another demographic…and I’m going to guess that whatever the last movie you saw was probably an action movie. (MORE)

Advanced Supplementation
By Jimmy Smith, CSCS
It's hard to find yourself on the fence when it comes to supplementation. One camp says that all you need to take is a multi-vitamin and fish oil and you are fine. They'll argue with you for days that you get enough minerals and vitamins from the food you eat.
The second camp will tell you that you need to take a large mix of supplements including zinc, magnesium, vitamin c etc etc. (MORE)

I'm not a Bodybuilder - and neither are you....
By Anthony Roberts, Senior Editor
Out of an average thousand people who consider themselves bodybuilders, only a few dozen out of that thousand actually compete. If you don’t compete, you aren’t a bodybuilder. Now, I hear what you’re saying “But I eat like a bodybuilder, train like one, etc…”
Ok….yes…but that doesn’t make you a bodybuilder. See…just training like a particular type of athlete doesn’t make you one. I shoot hoops a few times a week, but I’m hardly a basket ball player, even though that resembles the type of training they do. Get it…? The thing here is competing….if you don’t compete in bodybuilding event, then you can’t say you are a bodybuilder. If you dropped your reps down to the 3-5 rep range today, would you magically be a power lifter now? (MORE)

Foam Rolling Therapy
By Cassandra Forsythe, PhD(c), MS, CISSN
One of my most favorite things to do first thing in the morning when I get out of bed is to foam roll. You can see a foam roller here on the left of this text. A foam roller is essentially a dense foam cylinder that you use as your personal massage therapist. It is used to release the tension/adhesions between your muscles and the facia under your skin that cause you to ache and feel tight. It can also be used to mobilize certain areas of the spine - the thoracic and mid-thoracic, but avoid mobilizing the lumbar spine if you have any low-back issues like I do. (MORE)
