A ledger of cops on steroids was discovered during an internal affairs investigation of a 15-year veteran officer with the Edison Police Department (EPD) in New Jersey. The ledger reportedly contained the names of multiple officers along with transactions involving the purchase of illicit anabolic steroid products.

Aaron Mueller injected at least six high school students with anabolic steroids at his home while he was employed as a Gatesville Junior High School football coach. Mueller was indicted by a local grand jury on steroid manufacturing and trafficking charges in November 2017. He pleaded guilty in March 2018. Robinson Cano, a second baseman for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB), has been suspended for 80 games after testing positive for furosemide in violation of the MLB Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Furosemide is better known in the athletic and bodybuilding communities by its tradename Lasix.

Rodchenkov was the former director of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) who defected to the United States and became a whistleblower. Rodchenkov was featured prominently in the anti-doping documentary "Icarus".

Sheehan's defense strategy was based on the assertion that steroids affect a person's thinking and made reckless thinking more likely.

Edmonton police detective Greg Lewis has been sentenced to probation of one year and a fine of $7,000 CAD ($5450 USD) for selling steroids to other cops He was also directed to pay a $2100 victim fine surcharge.
