Ultimate Fighting Championship star tests positive for steroid June 15, 2007 LOS ANGELES (AP) - Ultimate Fighting Championship star Royce Gracie has tested positive for the use of steroids. The test was conducted after Gracie beat Kazushi Sakuraba in a match at the LA Coliseum on June second. It found evidence of a nandrolone metabolite steroid. The California Athletic Commission says Gracie could face a year's suspension and a $2,500 fine, pending an appeal. Forty-year-old Gracie is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master who helped start the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 1993. It has become a lucrative pay-per-view sport in which fighters use a combination of martial arts, boxing and wrestling.
