Description

Endo Pharmaceuticals and its majority-owned subsidiary Indevus Pharmaceuticals Inc. developed Nebido, a.k.a. testosterone undecanoate. Nebido is testosterone with the undecanoate ester, a very slow-acting long ester added to it.

More specifically, testosterone undecanoate's very long ester is substantially longer than enanthate. Nebido is a 2009 FDA approved testosterone undecanoate that actually requires medicinal dosing only four times per year, i.e. every 3 months/90 days.

Steroid Form

Nebido is a clear, yellowish, oil-based solution used for slow intramuscular injection. It comes in a 4 ml vial containing 1000 mg testosterone undecanoate as the active ingredient, along with benzyl benzoate and castor oil as excipients. Each ml solution contains 250 mg of testosterone undecanoate corresponding to 157.9 mg of actual testosterone.

Nebidos contraindications include androgen-dependent carcinoma of the prostate, or of the male mammary gland; past or present liver tumors and; hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of its excipients.
