Side Effects of Arimidex

The possible side effects of Arimidex are numerous; however, they are largely response related. Response based side effects are common with most medications; we all respond to varying items differently. For example, most people can take Aspirin, but there are those who become extremely sick if they touch the first pill. This is simply the individualistic nature of man.

When examining the side effects of Arimidex, other medications being used must also be considered as they can have an affect. In this case, the use of anabolic steroids in conjunction will have the strongest impact on the side effects of Arimidex. However, steroid use or not most can enjoy a positive experience with this powerful Aromatase Inhibitor (AI).

*Most Common Side Effects of Arimidex:

The most common side effects of Arimidex are in fact weakness and fatigue. This is very common for those who are not supplementing with anabolic steroids. However, it’s not a common issue for the anabolic steroid user, but some effect is possible. During phases of hard dieting, such as contest dieting for a bodybuilding show, as calories are already very low and training is brutally intense the use of this AI may promote an accelerated rate of weakness and fatigue.

*Possible Side Effects of Arimidex:

With or without anabolic steroid use, there are six primary possible side effects of Arimidex we must be aware of. Most adults will not have an issue, but each listed side effect of Arimidex is possible. The six primary possible side effects of Arimidex include:

  • Depression (very rare)
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Headaches
  • Hot Flashes
  • Joint Pain or Discomfort
  • Nausea and/or Vomiting (rare)

*The Side Effects of Arimidex & Bones:

Conclusive data has shown the side effects of Arimidex may include a decrease in bone mineral content. This could in turn make the individual far more susceptible to osteoporosis as decreases in bone mineral content will weaken the skeletal structure. However, for the anabolic steroid user this will rarely be a concern. Most anabolic steroids have the ability to promote bone mineral content to one level or another, with some enhancing bone mineral content dramatically.

*The Side Effects of Arimidex & Cholesterol:

Perhaps the most overlooked but most important side effect of Arimidex revolves around cholesterol. In fact, for the anabolic steroid user, of all the possible side effects of Arimidex this is the one that deserves the most attention. When Arimidex is used alone, without anabolic steroids, it should not have a strong or even statistical impact on cholesterol, but with steroid use the game begins to change.

Many anabolic steroids can have a negative affect on cholesterol. How strong the affect will be is largely dependent on the steroid in question, and to a degree the specific doses used. Oral steroids will normally have the strongest impact on cholesterol by suppressing HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol) and increasing LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol). Injectable steroids, the relative impact can vary greatly. For example, Trenbolone can have a negative impact on HDL and LDL significantly; however, testosterone should only have a mild impact on HDL cholesterol. Data has shown when testosterone is used alone it shouldn’t have a statistical impact on cholesterol when therapeutic doses are administered. When supraphysiological doses are applied, it may slightly reduce HDL cholesterol. Now we introduce the use of an AI like Arimidex and game changes. With therapeutic or supraphysiological doses of testosterone the side effects of Arimidex can result in a 20-25% reduction in HDL cholesterol.

Due to the potential cholesterol issues, a healthy cholesterol friendly lifestyle is important. Maintaining a close eye on your cholesterol is advised. The individual will also want to take steps to ensure his cholesterol remains at a healthy level. Diets should be rich in omega fatty acids with daily fish oil supplementation being part of the routine. Diets should also be low in saturated fats and simple sugars with daily cardiovascular activity being highly recommended. While not always necessary, some may find the use of a cholesterol antioxidant supplement to be valuable. If your cholesterol is at a healthy range and you follow these rules, the side effects of Arimidex surrounding cholesterol should not be an issue.
