Australian Bikini Model Charged with Importing Anabolic Steroids

Australian Bikini Model Charged with Importing Anabolic Steroids

Raquel Yasmine Petit is a fashion and bikini model and the founder of PETITKINI Luxe Tanning Bikinis. She is also apparently a steroid dealer. Petit was charged with illegally importing anabolic steroids and steroid trafficking in Melbourne Magistrates Court on November 24, 2017.

The 24-year old bikini model and entrepreneur allegedly imported commercial quantities of anabolic steroids and distributed them in and around Victoria between July 10, 2015 and November 2, 2016. Police seized $46,920 in cash that allegedly represents the proceeds from her illegal steroid trafficking enterprise.

Steroid trafficking may seem like an odd direction to take for a bikini model and swimwear designer. Yet Petit has previously shown clear proclivities for the criminal underground in recent years. A pregnant Petit joined boyfriend Wade Yates-Taui while was on the lam for murder.

Yates-Taui was a mixed-martial arts athlete with the PUMMA promotion and member of the Mongols Motorcycle Club. He fled to the United States from Australia after his involvement in the fatal stabbing of a rival with the Bandidos MC on June 23, 2013.

Police say that Petit’s Facebook posts and photos of the couple’s travels and partying helped them locate and catch Yates-Taui. Yates-Taui was arrested by U.S. Marshalls and extradited back to Australia in August 2014. He was convicted of the unlawful killing and sentenced to seven years and six-months in prison this month.

After Yates-Taui was arrested, Petit eventually resumed her career as a bikini model with jobs as a Miss V8 Super Cars grid girl, the “brand ambassadors” for Jim Beam, Harley-Davidson and Hard Rock Cafe and “the face” of Wild Orchid Australia swimwear. Petit founded PETITKINI in March 2016. But all of that was apparently not enough to keep her busy. She still found time for a steroid dealing side business.

Petit is scheduled to return to Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in March 2018.
