Musclehead320 Arrested for Manufacturing and Selling Steroids Under Onyx Pharmaceuticals Label

Musclehead320 Arrested for Manufacturing and Selling Steroids Under Onyx Pharmaceuticals Label

Tyler "White Pride" Bauman, better known by his Instagram and internet forum username of “Musclehead320”, was the leader behind a small group who operated the domestic-based steroid underground laboratory (UGL) known as Onyx Pharmaceuticals according to federal prosecutors. This allegation runs contrary to repeated protestations by Musclehead320 that he wasn’t the person behind Onyx.

Musclehead320 insisted that he would never consider becoming a “drug dealer” because he had “shit tons of money” from several legal and successful entrepreneurial pursuits like running a tanning salon called “Wicked Tan” and selling an ebook titled “Steroids - ‘How To’”.

“And let's let the rumor die here that I am onyx,” Musclehead320 claimed in forum postings. “I have many successful business that I would never put at risk being a drug dealer...

“As for me needing to sell steroids to bunch people on [Instagram] that's just crazy. I have shit tons of money and its not from having to sell steroids…

“I own tons of business buildings companys. Selling drugs yea that's cool when your 15.”

Musclehead320 was not being entirely truthful if the United States Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts is to be believed. Of course, admitting to openly selling anabolic steroids using the trademarked name of an existing pharmaceutical company owned by Amgen would be not be very smart.

“It is alleged that the defendants marketed the steroids as being made by ‘Onyx Pharmaceuticals,’ using both the Onyx name and symbols; however, Onyx, a pharmaceutical company owned by Amgen, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company based in California, does not manufacture liquid steroids,” according to a statement released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

“The defendants allegedly made the steroids themselves, using raw steroids imported from overseas, including from China. Bauman promoted the steroids through his social media persona, “musclehead 320,” claiming in his public posts that he was merely “sponsored” by “Onyx.”

Also contrary to Musclehead320’s public claims, his “legitimate” businesses were not making him independently wealthy. The feds believed that Bauman used Wicked Tan, and possibly other businesses, as a front to launder drug money.

Officially, Bauman and his co-conspirators have each only been charged with one count of conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit drugs and one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances (anabolic steroids).

The reference to counterfeit drugs does not mean that the steroids sold were necessarily bogus. It only means that Bauman counterfeited the Onyx Pharmaceuticals name and logo which were owned by one of the largest pharmaceutical biotechnology firms in the world – the $120 billion Amgen.
