UFC Light Heavyweight Jon Jones is Not Happy with All American Peptides

UFC light heavyweight Jon Jones is not at all happy with AllAmericanPeptide.com (AAP). Jones claimed his use of an AAP product was responsible for an anti-doping violation that resulted in a suspension from the sport. The one-year suspension was estimated to have cost him at least $12 million in prize earnings and endorsements.

Jones tested positive for clomiphene (Clomid) and letrozole in an out-of-competition urine test collected on June 16, 2016. Both substances are prohibited at all times under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.

After the failed drug test was initially reported, Jones vehemently denied intentionally using anabolic steroids and/or any other type of banned performance-enhancing drug (PED). He insisted that any failed drug test must have resulted from the consumption of a contaminated dietary supplement.

It turned out that Jones was telling the truth – at least mostly. Jones told the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) that he used what he thought were Tadalafil (Cialis) capsules. Jones revealed that the Cialis was given to him by a teammate. And the teammate purchased the product from a research chemical company called AllAmericanPeptide.com.

USADA independently obtained a bottle of AAP Tadalafil 30 milligrams and submitted it for analysis by a WADA-accredited laboratory. The product is advertised for sale at the price of $54.99 for 40 thirty-milligram capsules. The analysis revealed that AAP’s Tadalafil was contaminated with clomiphene, letrozole and tamoxifen. USADA did not reveal if the product actually contained tadalafil.

An AAP representative posting under the username “AAPrep” on Eroids insisted that the contamination revealed by USADA only represented “trace amounts” measured in micrograms. The contamination was literally no more than a “spec of dust” in the product.

USADA’s investigation of AAP brought unwanted attention to the “research chemical” company. AAP sells many popular performance-enhancing substances used by bodybuilders and athletes. Almost all of the products sold by AAP are banned under the prohibited substances lists in the UFC and most other sports. These banned substances included popular bodybuilding items such as clenbuterol, ephedrine, IGF-1 LR3, GW-50516, TB-500 (Thymosin Beta 4), GHRP-6, RAD-140, LGD-4033, YK-11, MK-677, ipamorelin, exemestane, Arimidex, tamoxifen citrate and clomiphene citrate.

USADA found it difficult to feel sympathetic for Jones after he admitted using a products produced by a company that openly sold over a dozen banned substances. It didn’t matter to USADA that athletes are permitted to use drugs like Cialis and Viagra. Jones could have used obtained a doctor’s prescription to buy erectile dysfunction drugs from a pharmacy instead of turning to a company that supplied numerous prohibited PEDs.

While the adage that ‘all publicity is good publicity’ often applies, AAP didn’t appreciate that attention caused by Jones’ doping scandal. AAP took down its website and replaced it with a notice that state ‘Down for Maintenance: All American Peptides is currently down for maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience.’

An AAP representative revealed that the “apparent issues” with USADA/UFC were the reason behind the downtime for its website. But the representative promised that all outstanding order had either been shipped or canceled and refunded.

Jon “Bones” Jones is obviously not a fan of All American Peptides. USADA confirmed that the AAP Tadalafil product he used was contaminated and Jones did not know that he was ingesting letrozole and clomiphene. The product resulted in an anti-doping violation and a one-year suspension that cost him an estimated $12 million to $15 million

It’s not exactly the type of publicity that AAP wants or needs.
